Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) packed dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) baking powder
- 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and brown sugar together until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Using a spatula, gently fold the mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before lifting them out and slicing.
