Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir with a spatula until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 9–11 minutes; remove from oven when the edges look set and matte, but the centers still look slightly underbaked and soft.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
