  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup (65g) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (65g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups (170g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla until glossy. Gently fold in sifted cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Spread the batter evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop the cookie dough into small balls and press them gently into the brownie batter, leaving small gaps between them. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
