Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to create a sling for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar on medium-high until the mixture is pale and fluffy (about 2 minutes). Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
- Reduce mixer to low and slowly add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix only until the flour streaks disappear. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are deep golden brown and pulling away from the sides, but the center remains slightly soft. Cool completely in the pan before slicing.
