Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (3g) salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to create a sling for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar on medium-high until the mixture is pale and fluffy (about 2 minutes). Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Reduce mixer to low and slowly add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix only until the flour streaks disappear. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula.
  4. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are deep golden brown and pulling away from the sides, but the center remains slightly soft. Cool completely in the pan before slicing.
