Ingredients:
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated white sugar
- ¼ cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg (50g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp (3g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) kosher salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Place the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a bowl and beat for about 3 minutes until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until fully incorporated and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, removing the cookies when the edges are deep golden brown and the centers no longer look wet.
