Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until the mixture looks pale and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Slowly add the flour, baking soda, and fine salt, folding the mixture gently with a spatula.
- Stop stirring as soon as the white flour streaks disappear to avoid overmixing.
- Gently stir in the dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll into balls, and place 2 inches apart on lined baking sheets.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain slightly soft.
- Immediately sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over each warm cookie.
