Ingredients:
- 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it foams and smells nutty (browned butter). Remove from heat and stir in the chopped dark chocolate until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar vigorously for 3-5 minutes until the mixture doubles in volume and turns a pale, creamy color. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder into the egg mixture. Gently fold the ingredients together with a silicone spatula until just combined.
- Fold in the melted chocolate mixture and the dark chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake.
