Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed dark brown sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (45g) black cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups (155g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 3/4 cup (130g) Halloween M&Ms or orange chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup (40g) candy eyeballs or sprinkles
- 1/4 cup (40g) leftover Halloween candy, chopped
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and dark brown sugar together until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and combined.
- Sift in the black cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Using a spatula or low mixer speed, fold the ingredients until just combined. Stop the moment you see no more white streaks of flour.
- Fold in the Halloween M&Ms and chopped leftover candy.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Gently press 2-3 candy eyeballs onto the top of each dough ball.
- Bake for 10 minutes until the edges are set but the center remains fudgy.
