Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg (50g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.2g) baking powder
- 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup (30g) chopped walnuts or pecans
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions:
- Place the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Melt and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the butter foams and small brown specks appear at the bottom. Remove from heat immediately and pour into a mixing bowl.
- Whisk the brown sugar into the hot brown butter until combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until the mixture looks glossy and smooth.
- Fold in the flour, salt, and baking powder using a spatula. Mix only until no white streaks remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
- Line the Ninja Crispi glass bowl with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly, smoothing the top.
- Set the Ninja Crispi to the bake/air fry setting at 325°F (160°C) and cook for 18–22 minutes until edges are mahogany-colored and the center has a slight jiggle.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately after removing from the air fryer.
