Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg (50g)
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1.2g) baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (30g) chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions:

  1. Place the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Melt and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the butter foams and small brown specks appear at the bottom. Remove from heat immediately and pour into a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk the brown sugar into the hot brown butter until combined.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until the mixture looks glossy and smooth.
  4. Fold in the flour, salt, and baking powder using a spatula. Mix only until no white streaks remain.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  6. Line the Ninja Crispi glass bowl with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly, smoothing the top.
  7. Set the Ninja Crispi to the bake/air fry setting at 325°F (160°C) and cook for 18–22 minutes until edges are mahogany-colored and the center has a slight jiggle.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately after removing from the air fryer.
