Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg (50g)
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 1/2 cups (225g) Red, White, and Blue M&M's
- 1/4 cup (35g) white chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together on medium-high speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the batter looks smooth and velvety.
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate small bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients on low speed, mixing just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Gently fold in the red, white, and blue M&M's using a spatula.
- Scoop dough balls onto the tray and press a few extra candies onto the top of each ball for decoration.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are barely golden while centers remain slightly soft.
