Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 1/2 tsp (4g) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp (1g) ground cloves
- 1/2 cup (120g) concentrated pear butter or finely diced dried pears
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) pear juice or milk
- 1/2 tsp (1g) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla, beating on medium speed until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves in a separate small bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed.
- Gently fold in the pear butter or dried pear pieces by hand until the pieces are evenly distributed without overworking the dough.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and barely golden, but centers still look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, pear juice or milk, and cinnamon, then drizzle over cookies once completely cooled.
