- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or whisk until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until the emulsion is smooth and no streaks of egg remain.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt directly into the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed just until the flour disappears to avoid overmixing.
- Dust your workspace with a pinch of flour. Roll the dough out to a precise 1/8-inch thickness.
- Use a 2-inch circular cookie cutter to stamp out uniform disks.
- Arrange cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until the edges turn a pale gold.
