Ingredients:

  • 115g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150g granulated white sugar
  • 100g light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 5ml vanilla extract
  • 170g all-purpose flour
  • 3g baking soda
  • 1.5g salt
  • 170g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Beat on medium-high until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low speed just until no streaks of flour remain.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  5. Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough per cookie and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined sheets.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  7. Remove when the edges are a deep golden brown and the centers no longer look wet.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to firm up before transferring to a wire rack to fully crisp.
