Ingredients:
- 115g unsalted butter, softened
- 150g granulated white sugar
- 100g light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 5ml vanilla extract
- 170g all-purpose flour
- 3g baking soda
- 1.5g salt
- 170g semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract. Beat on medium-high until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low speed just until no streaks of flour remain.
- Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough per cookie and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined sheets.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 12-15 minutes.
- Remove when the edges are a deep golden brown and the centers no longer look wet.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to firm up before transferring to a wire rack to fully crisp.
