A Crispy Cookies

DIY Chocolate Hobnob Cookies /Biscuits Recipe

Hobnob Cookies

Make Chocolate Hobnob Cookies at home for a treat that tastes just like the store-bought version. These biscuits, popular in Ireland, are like oaty shortbread topped with chocolate. Unlike soft American cookies, these biscuits are crisp and crunchy. They pair perfectly with a cup of tea, and dunking them is a must.

Irish biscuits are meant for tea time, which is a daily tradition. Even after moving to the States, the tradition of having tea around 3 PM continues, making these homemade treats even more enjoyable.

Creating homemade versions of store-bought goods can be rewarding. These Chocolate Hobnobs are simple to make, and the results are delicious.

What Is Golden Syrup? 🍯

Golden syrup, also known as light treacle, is a British baking essential. It’s an amber-colored syrup made from sugar cane juice with a buttery flavor. The most famous brand is Lyle’s Golden Syrup. You can find it in the British foods section of grocery stores, some U.S. stores, and online.

What’s the Difference Between a Hobnob and a Digestive? 🍪

Hobnobs and digestives are beloved British biscuits made by McVitie’s. The main difference lies in the ingredients: digestives use whole wheat flour 🌾, while Hobnobs use white flour and always include oats 🌾, giving them a distinct oaty texture.
