  • 🍯 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 🌾 β…” cup 100g / 3Β½ oz porridge oats
  • 🌾 β…” cup 100g / 3Β½ oz wholemeal flour

  • πŸ§‚ Β½ teaspoon baking powder
  • πŸ§‚ Β½ - 1 teaspoon sea salt to taste

  • 🧈 2 tablespoons 30g / 1 oz unsalted butter (for melting with chocolate)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven πŸ”₯

  • Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C) and line a few trays with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugar 🧈🍬

  • Use a hand or stand mixer to cream the butter and brown sugar until the mixture is pale, fluffy, and smooth.

Add Golden Syrup 🍯

  • Beat in the golden syrup until fully incorporated.

Mix Dry Ingredients πŸŒΎπŸ§‚

  • On low speed, mix in the oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until combined.

Chill the Dough ❄️

  • Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in cling wrap, and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.

  • Roll the dough into small balls, about a tablespoon each, and flatten them on the tray to about 2 inches in diameter. Leave space between them for spreading.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, then let them cool on the trays.

  • Melt the chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave.
