Ingredients:
- 1 box (18.25 oz) brownie mix
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the brownie mix and all-purpose flour until no clumps remain.
- Add the melted butter, unsweetened applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
- Beat on medium speed with a hand mixer for 1–2 minutes until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and the top is crackled, but the center remains slightly underbaked.
- Immediately sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie and allow to cool on the sheet.
