Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • Red food coloring
  • 1 medium-sized egg
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of almond extract
  • 1 ⅓ cups of shortening

Instructions
 

  • Here's how to prepare them:
  • Clean a glass bowl and sift the flour into it. Combine the sifted flour with baking soda and sprinkle salt into the mixture. Set the bowl aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly. Once beaten, add the almond extract to the egg mixture.
  • Add shortening and sugar to the egg mixture, then incorporate the dry flour mixture. Mix well until a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into balls and flatten them to form cookie shapes. Make a small dent in the center of each cookie and add a drop of red food coloring for decoration.
  • Arrange the Snack on a baking pan and bake for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once baked, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool until set. Store the cookies in an airtight container until ready to serve.
