Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup butter softened (1 stick)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ¾ cups cake flour

Instructions
 

Prep the Baking Sheet 🍪

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Ingredients 🥣

  • Cream together the butter and cream cheese using an electric mixer. Add the sugar and beat for 1 minute. Mix in the egg, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts. Gradually add the baking powder and cake flour in three parts, mixing until fully combined.

Chill the Dough ❄️

  • Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.

Shape the Cookies 👐

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Flour your hands to roll the dough into 1-2 inch balls. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a flour-dipped glass. Don’t flatten too much—leave room for the cookies to puff up.

Bake ⏲️

  • Bake for 9-11 minutes. Remove the cookies when the edges underneath start to turn golden. Keep an eye on them, as baking times may vary depending on your oven and altitude.
