Equipment

  • 1 Big Mixing Bowl Get the biggest one you can find.
  • 1 Sturdy Spoon You need a strong spoon for all the stirring action. No flimsy spoons allowed!
  • 1 Baking Trays These are like magic carpets for your cookies. They help them bake perfectly.
  • 1 Oven The big, hot box where the cookie magic happens.

Ingredients

  • 175 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 100 g light brown soft sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla essence
  • 250 g self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 200 g dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Step 1: Ask for Some Grown-Up Help
Before we dive into cookie-making fun, ask a grown-up to help with the oven and cutting stuff.
    Step 2: Preheat the Oven
Turn on the oven knob to 180°C. That’s the temperature where the cookies become golden wonders. Grown-ups can handle this part.
    Step 3: Mix it Up
In your big bowl, put the soft butter, caster sugar, and vanilla extract. Use your sturdy spoon to mix them until it’s all smooth and awesome.
    Step 4: Crack the Egg
Crack the egg into the bowl. Now, stir it like you’re mixing a super cool potion until everything is mixed up.
Step 5: Add the Special Flour
Pour in the self-raising flour and add a tiny pinch of salt. Mix it up again until you have a dough. Dough is just a fancy word for cookie mix. Fun, right?
    Step 6: Add Chocolate Fun
This is the best part! Toss those chocolate chips into the mix and stir them in
    Step 7: Shape the Cookies
If you have cookie cutters, use them to make cool shapes. If not, just grab small bits of dough, roll them into balls, and squish them a bit on the tray.
    Step 8: Bake Time
Get your grown-up helper to put the trays in the hot oven. Bake for around 10-12 minutes until your cookies are golden and smell amazing.
    Step 9: Cool Down
Be patient! Let the cookies cool a bit. They are super hot, and you don’t want to burn your little fingers.
    Step 10: Enjoy
The moment you’ve been waiting for! Munch on your homemade Millie’s Cookies.
