Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add the remaining ingredients for the cookies and mix until just combined. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for one hour.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Form large dough balls (about 3 ½ to 4 tablespoons of dough) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are golden. Use a spatula to flatten the cookies slightly. Let them rest on the tray for 10 minutes after baking, then transfer them to a cooling rack.
While the cookies cool, prepare the frosting by beating together the softened butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until fluffy and well-mixed.
Once the cookies have cooled, ice them with the frosting. Refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the icing to set. Serve at room temperature.
