Ingredients
- Crumbl sugar The cookie recipe
- 1 cup (224g) butter
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp (30g) vanilla extract
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 2 ¾ cups (257g) flour
- 1 tsp (4g) kosher salt
- ¼ tsp cream of tartar
- 2 tbsp (16g) cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes
Instruction
- Preheat the oven to 350F then line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Cream the butter, oil, sugar, and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the salt ‘flour ’ cream of tartar and baking powder and mix.
- Using a large cookie scoop (¼ cup – 4 tablespoons), scoop out 9 equal-sized cookie balls, place them on the prepared baking sheet, then flatten with your hands.
- Do About ½ inch in thickness.
- Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract to the creamed butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Bake for 9-10 minutes then cool on a baking sheet for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack completely before frosting.
- Don’t worry if the cookies look underbaked, they will continue baking as they cool.

Make the Pink Almond Sugar Cookie Frosting
- In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer using the paddle attachment, combine the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.

- Mix a little pink gel food coloring using a toothpick, then check the color. If you want something brighter, add more.
- Spread the almond sugar frosting generously over the cooled cookies and cool further before serving.
