  • 1 Lemon -zest
  • 2 sticks salted butter (softened) (1 cup)
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 Cups ALL PURPOSE flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Large egg
  • 4 ounce bottle of sprinkles
HOW TO MAKE COPYCAT PUBLIX SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE

Step1

In a large bowl with a hand mixer, cream the butter, cream cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract until light and fluffy usually about 4-5 minutes.

Step2

Add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step3

Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours before baking.

Step4

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the sprinkles into a bowl. Prepare a plate that you will use to put back in the fridge for a few minutes.

Step5

Roll the dough into 2-inch balls, place on a plate, and refrigerate for 20 minutes or more.

Step6

Quickly transfer the cookies to the prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart, and bake for 8-9 minutes until they are mostly set but the centers still look a little moist. These cookies should not change color or brown at all.

Step7

Let them rest on the baking sheet for another 5 minutes and then let cool completely and enjoy!
